Invitation to the
Mystic Krewe of Comus Ball
March 1, 1881
Theme: The Myths of Northland

Note the elaborate "MKC" monogram at the bottom of the vase. Their theme, "Myths of Nordland" or "They Myths of Northland," depicted Norwegian mythology. The Comus parade in 1881 had eighteen floats and the krewe's tableau ball was held in the Grand Opera House.
