The background design is "Acorn," a William Morris wallpaper design from 1877. Morris founded Kelmscott Press in 1891 to publish his designs and promote his design philosophy. Special Collections preserves a Kelmscott Press collection.

  • Grand Army of the Republic, LA section, 5 volumes (1875-1922)

  • Louisiana Civil Service League, ca. 40 cu.ft. plus 48 volumes (1939-1970)

  • Louisiana League for the Preservation of Constitutional Rights (predecessor of the American Civil Liberties Union in Louisiana), 1,828 pieces (1934-1948)

  • New Orleans Academy of Sciences, 276 items and 38 volumes (1853-1949)

  • New Orleans Fire-fighting Organizations, 62 volumes (1848-1883)

  • New Orleans Railway Union, 7,077 items (1927-1931)

  • Swiss-American Society of New Orleans, La ethnic society, 65 volumes (1855-1969)

  • La Societe Francaise, LA benevolent society, 334 items, including 30 volumes (1849-1937)
