We look forward to
welcoming you to New Orleans!

Registration booklets were mailed the last week of March. If you are not on the SSA mailing list and would like to receive a complimentary copy, please email Siva Blake at siva@hnoc.org. However, you do not need a registration booklet to register, because:

  • A downloadable registration form is on the "Registration" page of this website.

  • You may also book your hotel room online on this website's "Hotel" page.

The hotel reservation deadline is
passed and the hotel block is full.
However, our hotel contact, Reyna Croft, has offered to try to find space, if available, for late registrants. You may contact Reyna at: Reyna_croft@hilton.com

New Orleans is an especially appropriate place for SSAers to meet, for the Crescent City is known for its rich history, culture, diversity, music, and cuisine -- just like archivists. This rich culture is reflected by the more than twenty research archives in our city, several of which are national and international cultural institutions.

Because we will meet during the Bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase, New Orleans will be bustling with special events and visitors from around the world. To help place that historic event in context, our program committee has chosen the theme:

"Cultural Celebrations and Commemorations:
Archives, Memory, and History"

We will update and expand our website throughout the year, so please check back often for new features and information. But for now, plan to explore the streets where pirates and voodoo queens once walked, and where celebrity chefs and archivists still do.
