Let's set a SLOTTO record in New Orleans!

Proceeds from our annual SLOTTO drawing benefit our A. Otis Hebert Jr. Scholarship fund. The Hebert Scholarship furthers professional training of working archivists in the Southwest by supporting travel to workshops, seminars, institutes, and other educational opportunities.

Kim Allen Scott is Head of Special Collections, Montana State University, Bozeman.

Kim Allen Scott has graciously agreed to again host SLOTTO. SSAers who have enjoyed past annual meetings know that Kim will make this year's SLOTTO the highlight of our Saturday morning breakfast meeting.

SLOTTO's ’s success depends on the generosity of SSAers who donate items from their institutions or towns. Almost anything is appropriate to donate for SLOTTO. Typical donations in the past have included:

  • Posters

  • CDs

  • Sweatshirts

  • Books

  • Baseball caps

  • Coffee mugs

  • Tee-shirts

  • Coasters

  • Note cards

  • Postcards

  • Jewelry

  • Travel mugs

The donations can be from your institution (such as books or CDs your institution has published, school or corporate shirts or baseball caps, or even deaccessioned items) or souvenirs from your area (coffee mugs, note cards, posters, local jewelry, even regional cuisine!). So please, mail or bring an item or two with you to donate, contribute to expanding educational opportunities for archivists in our region, and add to the fun of our annual meeting.
