Scope and Contents: Daniel Henry Holmes, Jr. lived in New Orleans and his papers contain letters that he wrote to his daughters.  He reports family news from New Orleans, gives advice to his daughters, and outlines his plans to travel, with their mother, to see the girls in Europe.  Some of the letters are written solely to his eldest daughter, Rachel, whereas other letters are written to his daughters in general.
