Scope and Contents of the Materials

The collection consists of specifications and contract documents for Crippled Children's Hospital, New Orleans, as well as job cost records for the same project. The hospital was originally opened as a rehabilitation center for physically handicapped children in 1955 and designed by the New Orleans-based architectural firm, Ricciuti, Stoffle, and Associates.

Biographical Note

Italo William Ricciuti (1903-1987) was a Tulane graduate and New Orleans-based architect. He established a partnership with M. Wayne Stoffle (1912-1996) in 1948, operating as Ricciuti, Stoffle, and Associates. During this period, the firm designed the Crippled Children's Hospital in New Orleans (now called Children's Hospital). Ricciuti was the author of New Orleans and Its Environs with Rudolph Hertzberg (1938).
