The collection consists of political cartoons drawn by Byron Humphrey for an unknown publication, circa the 1970s. Humphrey was working in advertising in New York when he moved back to New Orleans in 1972 to look after his mother, who was ill. While in New Orleans, he created political cartoons for the New Orleans States-Item and the Times-Picayune.

Biographical Note

Byron Humphrey was born in New Orleans in 1940. He attended the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and the Rhode Island School of Design
