Historical Note: The Benedict family came from Pennsylvania to Louisiana during the nineteenth century. Individuals connected to the family include: Ada V. Benedict Wright, Charles Wright, Alice Benedict Bres, Edward Bres, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Benedict, Mary Ellen Benedict, and Julia Benedict. Alice Moise, a graduate of Newcomb College (1928), is a descendent of the Benedict family as well.
