Name: Hunter, Charles E., b. 19th cent.

Historical Note: Charles E. Hunter was a former Rough Rider and prominent Republican politician in the territory of, and later state, Oklahoma. He was chairman of the Oklahoma Republican Central Committee and clerk of the Oklahoma Federal District Court. Hunter was also active in the Rough Rider Association and helped in the creation of a New York chapter as well as the subsequent reunion held there.
