Historical Note:

Theodore Glucksmann (1877-1963), a native of Alexandria, came to New Orleans when he was six and lived at the Jewish Children's Home. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1895 and served during the Spanish-American War. After the War, he worked as a machinist, doing defense work in Panama and the United States. Glucksmann was a member of the Spanish-American War Veterans, the Osiris Lodge, and the International Association of Machinists. Glucksmann died in New Orleans 1963 December 20.

Glucksmann's father, Alexander (1833-1891), fought in the Civil War and was attached to the First Louisiana Cavalry, Company G.
