Name: Dymond, Florence.


Historical Note: Florence Dymond (1873-1962) was one of the first women at Newcomb College, founder of the Newcomb Alumni Association, and on the Board of Administrators of Tulane University. Her father John Dymond was an Ohio merchant who came to New Orleans after the Civil War and eventually became one of the founders of the Louisiana Sugar Planters Association. He was also Democratic State Representative and Senator for Plaquemines Parish.
