Name: Pilcher, Joseph Mitchell.

Historical Note: Joseph Mitchell Pilcher was a poet, newspaper writer, social worker, and religious educator. He was born in Marksville, Louisiana and spent most of his life in Alabama. He was the poet-laureate of Alabama and was a member of the Alabama Writers' Conclave and the chairman of the Alabama National Poetry Day.
