Historical Note: Henry Baldwin Curtis (1895 December 7-1980 February 14) was an attorney, politician, and military man. He was a graduate of Loyola University as well as Loyola Law School, and attended the Sorbonne, Paris. He was the first assistant city attorney (1946-1949), city attorney (1949-1957), and city councilman (1957-1969), all in New Orleans. Curtis served in the military during the Pershing Expedition to Mexico (1916) and in both World Wars. He was Commander of the Washington Artillery (1928-1941) and Colonel of the Louisiana National Guard. He was the recipient of four Bronze Stars and was married to Marguerite Grant.
