Historical Note: The New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club is the oldest tennis club in the Americas. It was founded in 1876 by a small group of English cotton merchants living in New Orleans who were tennis enthusiasts. The club's facilities have been located in various places through the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including Phillip St., Saratoga St., and Laurel St.
