Name: Wall, Bennett H.
Historical Note: Bennett H. Wall (1914-2003) was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned his bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University, and his master's and doctoral degree from the University of North Carolina in 1941 and 1946, respectively. Wall taught history at the University of Kentucky from 1944 to 1964. In 1974, he moved to Tulane University to be a professor and director of the Center for Business History Studies (1974-1980). In 1974, he served as president of the Louisiana Historical Association. Wall also published Louisiana: A History in 1984. In 1980, Wall moved to Athens to become a faculty member at the University of Georgia until his retirement five years later. He was active in the Southern Historical Association, serving as secretary-treasurer for thirty-three years.
