Name: Toole, Thelma.

Historical Note: Thelma Ducoing Toole (1901-1984) was the mother of John Kennedy Toole (1937-1969), who was the author of A Confederacy of Dunces. Following his death, she made it her life's work to get A Confederacy of Dunces published. It was published in 1980 with the help of Walker Percy and received the Pulitzer Prize in 1981. Toole collected everything about her son and his works.
