Historical Note: The Berthelot family, along with the related Champlain, Pézard, and Brisebois families, were early settlers of Quebec, Canada in the region of Trois Riviéres and Saint Genevieve. Of French origin, one of the first members of the Berthelot family to settle in Louisiana was François Berthelot in 1719.
