Historical Note: Coralie Guarino Davis (1926-2004) was the daughter of Florence Ducros Guarino and Anthony Guarino, granddaughter of the late Lena Gassissi Guarino and Joseph Guarino, Florence Patton Ducros and Joseph Emile Ducros, and the wife of George Warren Davis, Jr. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Newcomb College, a master's degree in education from the University of New Orleans, and a master's of library science from Louisiana State University. Davis was a librarian at the University of New Orleans' Earl K. Long Library from 1967 to 2001. She was Honorary State President of the Louisiana Society of the United States Daughters of 1812 and a member and officer of numerous organizations, including: Spirit of '76 Daughters of the American Revolution; Founders Chapter Louisiana Colonials; Descendents of the Founders of New Orleans; Dames of the Court of Honor; Louisiana Historical Society; Louisiana Landmarks Society; Friends of the Cabildo; Preservation Research Center; New Orleans Museum of Art; Newcomb Center for Research on Women; American Legion Auxiliary #175; Memorial Hall Foundation Confederate Museum; Tulane Emeritus Club; and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.
