Grima family papers, 1781-1923 | Louisiana Research Collection

Scope and Contents: The Grima family papers are made up of personal and business papers of Berthe, Félix, Alfred, and Edgar Grima, as well as other people whose business affairs they handled between the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The collection includes slave sale documents, land transactions, mortgage agreements, wills, tax receipts, succession suit material, business and personal correspondence, as well as financial ledgers genealogical material. Most papers created before the Civil War are in French.
