Scope and Contents: The collection contains typed and handwritten notes of Mary Amis Ready while she worked for her son, William E. Ready, a lawyer in Meridian, Mississippi. He was active in the Civil Rights Movement and her comments discuss his actions, draw portraits of individuals involved on both sides, and she gives personal reflections on events and attitudes. The collection also includes correspondence and article reprints dealing with integration and information on the STAR-Poverty Project. There are also population records and journals included in the collection.
