Scope and Contents: The collection consists of correspondence, bills, receipts, genealogical notes, prayer cards, envelopes, and photograph, all of which relate to the Hincks family and other closely-connected families. There is the personal and business correspondence of John W. Hincks, his wife Lise Lambert, and their children, Leda Hincks and Joseph Anatole Hincks, who corresponded while he was serving in the Confederate Army. Also included is a group of papers related to David Olivier and his daughter, Eliza Miskell Olivier, who is also the mother of John and David Hincks. After the death of Joseph Hincks, Eliza Miskell Olivier married Noel Destrehan and Anatole Peychaud. Correspondence and papers pertaining to the Peychaud-Olivier succession suit are included in the collection.
