Scope and Contents: The collection consists of letters from Edward M. Richardson of Clinton and Jackson, Louisiana, to his brother, F.D. Richardson of Jeanerette and New Iberia, Louisiana (1837-1842, 1846). The correspondence concerns personal and family matters, including a small plantation of five hundred acres for sale near Jackson that Edward Richardson wants his brother to purchase in 1841. There is also a certificate signed by judges of the Louisiana Supreme Court stating that Edward Richardson is qualified to practice law in Louisiana.
