Scope and Contents: The collection consists of correspondence and documents about Edward K. Russ, most of them from the Reconstruction period. Russ worked for the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands. He was then appointed Sheriff of Bossier Parish, Louisiana in 1869, Recorder for Bossier in 1871, and Inspector at the Custom House. The collection consists of correspondence, special orders, appointments, a baptismal certificate, a certificate, and executive orders.
