Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection contains correspondence, charts, maps,and printed matter related to the Mississippi River flood of 1927. The printed matter consists mostly of advertisements intended to raise awareness of the flooding problems in Louisiana. Some of the printed matter promotes Louisiana in that it demonstrates that only a small portion of Louisiana was effectd by the flood of 1927. These materials were collected A.B. Dinwiddie, former president of Tulane University and member of the Flood Policy Committee during this time period.
