Scope and Contents of the Materials

A.G.T. (Andrew Given Tobias) Moore was active in the forestry and lumber industries while also a forest conservationist. He wrote articles and papers on land utilization in addition to giving speeches throughout the United States. Moore was on the Board of Trade, New Orleans and Gainesville, Florida; traffic manager of Southern Pine Association, New Orleans; and director of the Southeast and Southwest Shippers Regional Advisory Board. The collection includes biographical material, correspondence (1920s-1970s), addresses and articles written by Moore on lumber transportation cost problems and forest conservation, as well as photographs of logging operations.

Biographical Note

A.G.T. (Andrew Given Tobias) Moore (1889-1961) was active in the forestry and lumber industries while also a forest conservationist. He wrote articles and papers on land utilization in addition to giving speeches throughout the United States. His addresses and articles were often about lumber transportation cost problems and forest conservation. Moore was on the Board of Trade, New Orleans and Gainesville, Florida; was traffic manager of Southern Pine Association, New Orleans; and was director of the Southeast and Southwest Shippers Regional Advisory Board.
