Historical Note: Joseph Roger Baudier (1893-1960) was a self-taught writer, researcher and ecclesiologist. He wrote for various baking trade journals and magazines, including The Mixer, The Southwestern Miller, and The Dough Boy (which he edited from 1949 to 1960). He also contributed a weekly column, "Historic Old New Orleans" on Creole life to Catholic Action of the South. His most notable work is The Catholic Church in Louisiana.
