Historical Note: The Becnel-Armant family were joined when Lézin Becnel married Amélia Armant. Lézin Becnel was a captain in the Confederate Army and a member of the 30th Regiment Louisiana Volunteers. He was killed by a bullet wound in a battle near Augusta, Georgia on August 4,1864 and died in Griffen, Georgia. He attended the University of Virginia. The Becnel-Armant family is tied to the following families: Fuselier, Haydel, Himel, and Cantrelle families.
