Historical Note: Louis Charles de Blanc St. Denis (b. 1753 April 29-1826), an officer in the Louisiana Militia, served as commandant of both the Natchitoches and Attakapas (St. Martinsville) posts. He was the elder son of Caesar de Blanc de Neuveville and Marie des Douleurs Simone de St. Denis and married Marie Isabelle Pomponne d'Emeville of New Orleans in 1772.
