Historical Note: Willie Wolff was a German citizen working in England at the outbreak of World War I. He was imprisoned for the duration of the war during which time he wrote six diaries. The diaries record his treatment, living conditions, and activities while in jail. After the war, Wolff moved to New Orleans.
