Name: Moresi's Foundry and Machine Company (Jeanerette, La.)


Historical Note: Moresi's Foundry and Machine Company is located in Jeanerette, Louisiana. The company was established in 1885 by Antoine Moresi, who emigrated from Switzerland in 1852. Moresi’s Foundry was intended to maintain and develop the machinery needed to harvest the bounty from the Louisiana flood plain, particularly sugar mills. After his death in 1904, the company was known as A. Moresi Company, Limited and managed by his sons Louis Moresi, president; Damas Moresi, general manager; and Albert Moresi, assistant manager.
