Name: Delavigne family.


Historical Note: César Casimir Delavigne lived in Louisiana while his brother Louis and sister Elizabeth lived in Aupoix, France. Louis Delavigne had two sons, Jean-François Casimir Delavigne (1793-1843), who was a famous poet and dramatist, especially noted for his romantic, patriotic theater and opera, and Germain Delavigne (1790-1868), who was known for his opera books. Jean Casimir Delavigne (1806-1888), the son of César Casimir Delavigne, wrote Tales of Louisiana. The Delavigne family is related to the Haydel, Jourdon, and Deslondes families.
