1. Arceneaux, Muriel

This collection contains materials gathered by Muriel Arceneaux during her professional, volunteer, and service-related career. A long time advocate of women's rights, she served as a member of the Terrebonne Chapter of the National Business and Professional Women's Club (1973-1985), chairwoman of the Legislative Committee (1975-1978), State Legislative Chair of the Business and Professional Women's Club (1978-1981), a member of the Terrebonne YWCA (1979-1987), an elected member of the Democratic State Central Committee (1987-1991), and a member of the Terrebonne Parish Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Arceneaux was also involved in planning activities for the International Women's Year Louisiana Conference and was a dedicated supporter of the ERA. The bulk of this collection consists of personal correspondence, notes, newspaper clippings, meeting agendas, and organizational documents from her personal involvement in these organizations. Also included are publications from national and state organizations, such as The National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs and "Louisiana: Priorities for the Future." This collection would be of particular interest to those researching the feminist movement in Louisiana, especially in the Terrebonne Parish area.

This collection contains material relating to the Fourth Non-Governmental Organizations Women's Forum held in Beijing, China, 1995. There are pamphlets and leaflets from different organizations from around the world, information on the conference, descriptions of women's conditions in different countries, and suggestions on how to take political action.


3. Blake, Jody

This collection contains the research done by Jody Blake on Newcomb pottery, as well as other art pottery exhibited at the World's Fairs from 1900-1915. Blake began her work in a seminar at Newcomb College and continued it as an independent studies project. The collection explores Newcomb pottery, material on art pottery in general (other art pottery, art societies), background on 20th Century World's Fairs/international exhibits, and materials on the individual fairs/expositions from Paris 1900 to San Francisco 1915.


4. Blum, Lucile
1949-1995

This collection consists of photocopies of clippings, certificates, posters, and other printed matter collected by Blum about her work for the performing arts. The collection is notable for its documentation on work in promoting the arts in Louisiana schools. In conjunction with the Louisiana Council for Music and Performing Arts, Blum established the Louisiana Slide Lending Library. Another of her projects centered around "Art Outreach," which helped handicapped children and adults communicate through painting, drawing, music, drama, dance, and photography.


5. Boggs, Corinne (Lindy) Claiborne

This collection consists of correspondence, invitations, event programs, and miscellaneous literature covering many of Lindy Boggs' countless accomplishments during her career in politics. The collection is a supplement to biographical files on her located in the Nadine Vorhoff Library and her Congressional papers at Special Collections, Howard-Tilton Library.


6. Boyer, Harriet Papers
1910-1918

The collection consists entirely of letters received by Boyer, a home economist. With the exception of a few personal letters, the papers contain mostly business letters from various government agencies or consultants in Domestic Science, such as Claudia Quigley Murphy. Boyer was active in soliciting food product samples and new equipment for preliminary testing in her classroom. Her collection provides insight into the general attitude towards domestic science in the state of Louisiana as well as the practical applications of these classes.


7. Card, Emily

This collection contains material on a broad range of subjects with which Card worked. The bulk of the material consists of working files for books on money management, magazine articles, television shows, and academic and government research, which involved Emily Card. The material might be of particular interest to those researching the United States' policies on women's financial credit, the women's movement in the period 1970-1995, and Ghana through the eyes of an American student in the 1960s.


8. Chang, Ruth

Ruth Chang graduated with honors from Newcomb College in 1996 as a women's studies major. This collection contains research notes concerning violence against women.


9. Cohen, Joseph

This collection contains records from Joseph Cohen's files from 1957 to 1988, primarily material from the various committees on which he served, among them the Newcomb Curriculum Committee, the Newcomb Dean Search Committee (1986-87), and the Advanced Standing Committee. This collection also includes his files on the Southern Honors Symposium (1970) and the National Collegiate Honors Council (1969-75) as well as on the Woodwork Wilson Fellowship Competition. The collection also includes three sessions of an interview with Cohen in 1991 on three videocassettes about his life.

The bulk of this collection is published monographs both written and edited by Tee Corinne on the subject of lesbianism, erotic stories and poetry.
