The period between 1898 and the outbreak of World War I was a golden age of postcard collecting. Hathaway Gibbens, familiarly known as Hathy, received postcards from her mother and other relatives and friends while a pupil of the Ursuline nuns in New Orleans ca.1906 - 1910. The postcards depict scenes in New Orleans and Covington, La., the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and various cities in the United States and Canada.

The documents largely relate to her involvement with civic organizations including the Community Chest, the Council of Social Agencies, the General Federation of Women's Clubs, the Orleans Parish School Board, the Women's Auxiliary to the Seamen's Bethel, and the George Washington Bicentennial.

Music manuscripts composed by Elizabeth "Betty" Brannon Casellas (1925-1984). Born in New Orleans, Casellas studied at the Chicago Musical College but later returned to her native city and became director of the Norman Mayer Library at Tulane University. Among her diverse compositions are sonatas and a suite for piano; a rhapsody for piano and oboe; chamber music; a trio for flute, clarinet, and piano; and songs, including several for children.
