Cuvillier family papers, 1814-1877 | Louisiana Research Collection

Scope and Contents: The collection includes certificates issued by the governors of Louisiana certifying Joseph Cuvillier as Notary Public in New Orleans. There are signatures of several governors and secretaries of state, including Charles Gayarre (1850), and Military Governor George F. Shepley (1862). Also included are a certificate of service of Charles Cuvillier with merit with the First Battalion of the 52nd Regiment (1817) and a resolution of thanks by the General Council of New Orleans to Charles Cuvillier and E.A. Michel.
