Historical Note: Phyllis Wilson Hudson (b. 1918) and her husband sold their business in Chicago in 1960, relocating their family to New Orleans. Hudson pursued a business in art preservation. She trained in France and the United States, and served apprenticeships for two established art conservators. She ran Phyllis Hudson, Ltd., in New Orleans, restoring paintings and works on paper throughout the South for private clients and museums. Hudson was a member of the American Institute for Conservation, the International Institute for Conservation, and the Institute of Paper Conservation in London.
