Scope and Contents: The collection consists of notes, speeches, correspondence, bulletins, pamphlets, family papers, by-laws, minutes, agendas, and journals that reflect Anna Harrison's dedication to social work and public health, particularly the care of the aging. There are materials from several White House Conference on Aging as well as materials from her participation on the Metropolitan New Orleans Council on Aging. There are two nineteenth century papers in the collection belonging to family members, one the sale of a slave to her ancestor Benjamin S. Harrison in 1852 and the other is a bankruptcy discharge of Antoine Giraud in 1877.
