Leucht, Reader, Congregation Gates of Mercy (New Orleans, 1868-1872, 1879-1881); Reader, Temple Sinai (New Orleans, 1872-1879); Reader, Congregation Gates of Mercy of the Dispersed of Judah (New Orleans, 1881-1886); and rabbi of the same congregation (1886-1914), which was later named Touro Synagogue. There are also after-dinner speeches, explanations of Bible portions for particular weeks, the significance of various holidays, and prayers for special occasions.
