Scope and Contents: This collection consists of research materials for and the manuscript of Robert Meyer, Jr.'s book, Names over New Orleans Public Schools (1975). Meyer corresponded with various research institutions as well as the schools themselves to acquire information about the individuals after whom many of the New Orleans public schools were named. Also included in the collection are clippings; notes; and information about each profiled school's official song, color, and flower.
