Scope and Contents: This collection consists of personal letters (1879-1910); legal papers (1879-1910); minutes of the Louisiana Port Investigation Commission and New Orleans and San Francisco Railroad Company (1908); and legal pamphlets (1880s-1910). Samuel Louis Gilmore (1858-1910) was New Orleans City Attorney and later a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1909-1910. There are numerous resolutions for the City of New Orleans for the years 1876 to 1879 in the collection.
