Scope and Contents: The collection consists of photocopies of letters, clippings, obituaries, and genealogical information of the Pierson family of Bienville, Winn, and Natchitoches Parishes of Louisiana. Much of the material relates to the career and family life of David Pierson (b. 1837), a member of the Louisiana Secession Convention, a Confederate officer, and Louisiana district judge. He was an opponent of secession and voted against it during the convention. The collection also contains the genealogies of relates families, including the Collins, Morris, Oswalt, Pipes, and Wells families.
